The Final Report on VEAC's Marine Investigation was submitted to the Minister for Environment and Climate Change on 30 April 2014 and publicly released on Wednesday 7 May 2014.
Progress
Overview
The Minister requested VEAC to investigate the outcomes of the establishment of Victoria's existing marine protected areas. The Terms of Reference are available here. The Marine Investigation included three public submission periods with a final report provided to the Minister in April 2014.
The investigation covered the 13 marine national parks, 11 marine sanctuaries, and 6 marine parks, marine reserves or marine and coastal parks established under schedules seven, eight and four respectively of the National Parks Act 1975.
