Overview

The report text has been edited to incorporate government decisions on the recommendations made by Order in Council dated 31 October 1978, 20 March 1979, and 1 May 1979 and subsequent formal amendments.

The recommendations are grouped under major headings, such as Parks, Reference Areas, Wildlife, Hardwood Production, Bushland Reserves and so on. Key recommendations are for Mount Buffalo National Park, Wabonga Plateau State Park, and extensive softwood production areas.

Note that recommendations for much of the North Eastern District 4 were replaced by those in the North-eastern (Benalla-Upper Murray) Review. ECC's Box-Ironbark Forests & Woodlands Investigation subsequently replaced recommendations for public land within 20 kilometres of the Hume Freeway.
