Overview

The report text has been edited to incorporate government decisions on the recommendations made by Orders in Council dated 4 December 1979 and 22 January 1980 and formal amendments. Subsequent changes may not have been incorporated.

The recommendations are grouped under major headings, such as Parks, Hardwood Production, Rivers and Streams and so on. Key recommendations are for the Port Campbell National Park, Bay of Islands Coastal park, numerous wildlife and lake reserves on the western plains, and substantial areas for softwood production.

Note that recommendations for the Otway Ranges and adjoining areas have been replaced by those in VEAC's Angahook-Otway Investigation Final Report (2004).
